Reading

June 7 "reading" is the challenge. I skipped a few days because we had been so busy with playing outside and going to the pool. I think it is a good excuse. I would rather be playing with my kiddos than playing with my phone/camera anyway. But, regardless, here is today's photo.

It is from the 3rd book in the "Anne of Green Gables" series. I am loving reading it. So, I hope you enjoy.... And if you haven't read the series, you should totally get on that. I am going to read them to Jenni and Maria when they get older.

Family!!!

I love my family. I am just going to post some of my favourite pics today. Enjoy.

Love my family!!!!

Color

So today is June 3 and the photo a day challenge subject is "color" today. Here is my color.

These were a gift for me from a very good friend and a huge support in my life. I got them after my first show with my band Kick'n Around.

This is also a little bit of color for me while I do dishes, but I took this yesterday.

Enjoy the photos.

Photo a day challenge

So, I have seen the photo a day challenges all over the place but I haven't yet done one. Now with having a camera at my fingertips all the time I am going to give it a try for the month of June. (Minus the first day because I missed it)

There is a lot going on in the month of June for me so why not make it interesting and document it with my own personal flare and interpretation.

#1 big thing for me.... Today was our first paid gig as a band. Kick'n Around played at the Three Hills Cruise Weekend put on by the "street freaks". It was major blast and I am super sun burned on one side.

#2 big thing.... My baby girl is going to be 6 months old. Where did the first half of her first year go???

#3 big thing.... My Jenni is going to be 3 years old. WHAT????? Seriously. Time goes too quickly.

So, that being said, I am going to try to document as much as I can for this month and so I can look back on my beautiful girls at such a young age and remember fondly where we were at in June 2013.

In my hood

So I am in the beginning of a photo a day challenge for the month of June. Today was "in my hood" I took hood to mean neighbourhood. Here it is.

The thing is, I did also think of this kind of "hood"

So I do know that I am a big dork.

Well, here is to keeping on with my challenge.

Happy Mother's Day

Today was a wonderful day. It was my third Mother's Day, although my first one was with Jenni still inside me, and it was the best one by far.

It started with Sean and Jenni making me waffles for breakfast. It was so cute listening to the two of them make the batter together. It was not breakfast in bed (because Sean couldn't find the tray) so I got up and came to the table. It was a much better choice to sit at the table anyway because it did get a little messy.
Then Jenni came to me with something behind her back and said, "happy mudders day mommy" and handed me a beautiful watch. It was the perfect gift because my old one broke a few weeks back and it made me sad.

Then we walked to church and had a beautiful service.

After church we went over to Sean's parents' house to celebrate with them too. It was a pretty nice day so we did a lot of playing outside.

It is now a perfect ending to a perfect day.

A sense of accomplishment

So over the past few weeks I have been slowly working away at the yard.... You know.... Getting it all ready for summer!! It has been a long time coming, and there is so much more to be done, but it feels so good getting at least most of the yard done.

So these are two basic before pictures. The thing is, is there is still more yard that you can't see. Behind the shed (behind the play area) there is still another 10 feet of yard, not to mention across the yard. So there is basically a 10x60 area of yard that we don't even use or really see.

So after about 6 collective hours of work we have gotten the yard livable.

So there is about another 2 hours of work left cleaning out the flower beds and doing the boulevard, but it is not that big of a deal compared to what we have already done.

I'm just so happy that the yard is ready for Jenni and Maria to play in. We even let Jenni play in the sprinkler today too.

So here's to a big sense of accomplishment and the start of a great summer.
